Hailing from the DMV, the Washington D.C. native Dame Luke is a fresh new face, bringing a refreshing and feel-good sound to music today as an artist and songwriter. His brash bravado, unique delivery, and clever wordplay in his flow give him his own voice in the game today. His musical career dates back to 1994, when Dame started his own Go-Go band. The band consisted of a singer, two conga players, horn, and guitarist. The group would go on to perform at a Christmas school program, debuting a song written by Dame himself, giving him his first taste of success.

Some years later, Dame Luke would begin to take his craft seriously, investing in his own production programs and making beats while also recording local artists on the side. Driven by his passion to write songs, he would work to help develop other artists. As time ensued, Dame’s production continued to branch out amongst the local music scene, writing more for other acts, further developing his skills as a songwriter.

Dame then made his way west, moving to Arizona in 2003 to attend Arizona State University, where he would pursue a degree in fashion design. Here he met musical partner and lifetime friend, David “NuDAE” Edmonds. The two formed a production team by the name of NoisemAkerZ and began working with various local artists, continuing to build his brand as a songwriter.

With a new state to call his home, Dame started producing and working with local talent such as Blacknotes, Ol’ Green Eyes, Tajii Sharp, and many others. The NoisemAkerZ’s first big production break was “I Shine” by Ol’ Green Eyes, which was selected as the single for his upcoming album, accompanied by a music video. Through the success of the single “I Shine,” Ol’ Green Eyes would eventually receive his own show performing at a Las Vegas resort.

Continuing down their path, Dame Luke and NuDAE decided it was time to release their own album entitled “A World With Us”. While in development, this project would grow into something larger, by way of a better means, through their development of a relationship with members of the Blacknotes. During the production process, the duo continued to work with “Nasty” Nate Kimbrough (later known as Nate Jetson), and began constructing a full musical ensemble by the name of Galaxxy. Galaxxy featured three emcees, one male singer, one female signer, and a full live band consisting of four keyboardists, a bass guitar, an electric guitar, and drummer.

The group would go on to write a number of songs and Galaxxy hit the scene in 2009, opening for artists like Fat Joe and Sean Kingston. It was here where Dame contributed to the group as both a writer and an artist. Galaxxy won a number of talent shows that year and their buzz enabled NuDAE to sign an artist development with his uncle, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds’ record label. Singer Cherry Brown went on to sign a contract singing for a resort across international waters in Hong Kong. In turn, the development of the Galaxxy album and any group activity was placed on hold, hopefully resuming soon.
